Why is having a library foundation so important?
Demand for library resources in McKinney is growing every year, yet the library system's budget remains less than 1 percent of total city spending.
In fiscal year 2023, the library:
served over 64,000 households, adding nearly 12,000 new account holders.
experienced a 7 percent increase in borrowing.
Enjoyed an 11 percent rise in program attendance, with almost 40,000 guests at various events each month.
The McKinney Public Library Foundation was formed to break through the city's budgetary constraints and create a secondary source of funding to make our library the gem—and envy—of North Texas.
Nearly 100 percent of the funds collected will go directly to enriching and enhancing our library system, with very minimal administrative costs.
Contributing is a direct way to show that our library matters to you, your organization, and the vitality of McKinney.
We invite you to partner with us.
“Without libraries what have we? We have no past and no future.”
