MPFL BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The Board of Directors consists of fifteen volunteers serving staggered three year terms. As of right now, all seats on the Board are filled.

If you are interested in serving in the future, or volunteering for the Foundation, please complete the application below. Qualifications for Director include being a McKinney, TX resident over eighteen and having time in your schedule for meetings and Committee responsibilities. All candidate submissions are reviewed by the MPLF Nominating Committee, and candidates will then be interviewed by the Committee. The Nominating Committee will recommend candidates for election to the MPFL Board of Directors at the next monthly meeting. Meetings are held the fourth Thursday of each month at John and Judy Gay Library and are open to the public.

DUTIES, TIME COMMITMENT & OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • McKinney resident

  • At least 18 years old

  • Board Meetings: 12 meetings per year, during evenings, one to two hours per meeting

  • Board Committee Meetings: up to 12 times per year depending on duties, determined by committee members

  • Annual Meeting each year in April which coincides with the April Board Meeting

  • MPLF Social Events and Activities: Attend whenever possible

Board candidates should have access to, and some knowledge of, applications such as Gmail and Google Workspace, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat. .

5. What are your reasons for wishing to volunteer your service on the MPLF Board of Directors?

6. What volunteer activities have you been involved in with MPLF and/or other not-for-profit or non-profit organizations?

7. Do you have a potential conflict of interest and/or time in either your current professional or another volunteer role that could affect your capacity to serve on the Board? If so, please disclose.

8. What challenges or opportunities do you believe MPLF is currently facing? What challenges or opportunities do you anticipate MPLF confronting in the future?
